The Modern Chain
The modern bicycle chain is a bushingless design. It was invented in 1978 by Sedis. Click here to view the original Sedisport brochure
There are many advantages to the modern "Sedis" chain:
-The pin has minimal protrusion which lengthens the life of the deraileur, sprockets, and chainwheel.
-Gear changing became easier and quiter.
-The smaller diameter of the plates extremities cuts down on chain track and weight.
-The chain is still able to function when out of allignment.
-The cambered inner plate allows for quick, precise, and quiet shifting.
-The new sedis chain is quite compact.
