Introduction

Our 3D CAD Modeling was modeled and Assembled in Autodesk Inventor. We choose to CAD these parts because of there important role in the Engine sub-system that they play and also because of the direct way in which all of these parts interact. These components also allowed us to create two sub-assemblies which are a part of a greater assembly, and also allowed us view the more complex parts which we talked about in the Product analysis, letting us see how changes in a part can change other assembly dimensions and constrains. Autodesk Inventor was chosen as a platform because of the free student seats which are given out to active students, this made is so we could CAD anywhere including the dissection lab where these components are kept. All of the CAD for this project was done using a subtractive process which made us as a group think about the more realistic ways these product where made or could have been made, excluding expensive additive processes.
