 :Analysis will involve the dissection of a gasoline powered weedwacker in order to determine the exact nature of its mechanical function.  Each functional aspect will then be analyzed to assess its contribution to the proper purpose of the overall system.  After, analysis suggestions will be made for possible improvements to each subsystem of the weedwacker to better fulfill its purpose.  Suggestions will also be made for variations on subsystems in order to alter the product purpose.

		+	Throughout the course of this project, the group members collaborated to dissect and analyze the Homelite Mightylite 26vt weedwacker. The technical report to follow contains a dissection guide, analysis, explanation, and reassembly guide to all the working parts and subsystems within the weedwacker. The Homelite Mightylite 26vt is a residential grade weedwacker, and its main use is to assist in the removal of unwanted foliage that a push lawnmower or riding lawnmower could not reach. The dissection revealed that the weedwacker is a realtively simple machine that does its job very well. Upon the product explanation, we found that the major weak point of the weedwacker is that it does not start easily. Thusly, we proposed an electric start in order to fix this problem. The electric start feature would widen the market to people that are not physically able to start a traditional weedwacker. Other than the starting mechanism, the dissection and analysis revealed that the weedwacker is already a highly refined product. The weedwacker does its job very well while maintaining a high level of simplicity. The product is so simplistic that the crank arm on the piston is the only major mechanism inside the weedwacker.
