Disassembly Steps

Based on what is visible on the Exceed RC Nitro Powered RC car we are analyzing, the steps we believe will be necessary in order to properly and safely disassemble it are enumerated below.

1. Remove the pins securing plastic body and lift off the body.
2. Remove the (2) [size 1] screws attaching the AM reciever to the body.
3. Remove the (2) screws on top of the reciever and remove the inside components.
4. Remove the wires on the receiver, one white and one blue.
5. Remove the bar located in the middle of the car by removing the two long screws securing it to the car frame.
6. Remove the screw securing the clutch T-shaped rotational component
7. Remove the (3) very smallhex nuts and the (1) small hex nut. We will then be able to remove the wires connecting the system together.
8. Rotate the car onto its back, remove the (4) screws which for a square and are capable of sliding.
9. Turn the car back over and remove the nut located on the base 1 inch from the front right wheel.
10. Remove the entire combined engine/exhaust system.
11. Remove all (11) screws of the frame and mark their location on the car frame diagram given.
12. Remove the one nut/screw securing the gas tank and remove the gas tank from the frame.
13. With the removal of (5) screws, remove the radio controller/computer located behind the front left wheel.
14. Remove the (2) screws from the tab towards the front center of the car partially covering the gears for the front tires.
15. Now that every component is off the base, we can turn our attention to the rods sticking up from the base. These can be wholly removed by removing the screws attaching them to the base.
16. Remove the wheel systems as a whole from the car in pairs.
17. The removal of a screw and hex nut will allow the removal of the spring component.
18. Move on to the other nuts which will detach the wheels from their axles connecting them to the central rotary component.
19. With a few more nuts removed from the other side of the axles, the wheels will be completely removed from the rotary system.
20. To conclude, we will disassemble the spoiler and any other individual systems that were removed combined with each other.

This completes the dissection process. Along the way we will be taking detailed pictures and notes in order to reassmble this in the coming weeks.
