Sensor ontology development

• Trolling SSHWG notes for:
  • Good application/group reviews---sensors used, procedures, etc
  • Sensor data formats & languages
• Need to review, learn, compare against, build on existing work
  • Thesis: Many approaches do not provide well for describing and reasoning on roles and capabilities
  • Many languages to draw on
    • Sensor ML
    • EDXL
    • NAWS
    • IEEE 1451
    • ANSI N4242
    • ebiquity sensor ontology
      • Very low level, essentially /proc for a node

Message package/wrapper/envelope

• Has small, very generic ontology (msg, source, format, etc)
• Some sort of packet format, XML schema, etc, to wrap metadata/data
  • Important to stress that ontology data is not the message, it's metadata alongside data
